Instead of starting a new thread I thought Id chime in here. Im 6'6" and have an 08 Road King. I've moved the boards fwd (tall boys) and down a bit but need bars and a seat that moves me back at bit. Anyone have similar concerns with the fit of the bike? Im thinking of 13" bars to start>
Thanks

Personally, I think the biggest thing causing Batwing (and to a point Sharkwing) guys to stay as low as possible, while still being comfortable, is trying to stay close to the fairing for aesthetics.
The second reason would be riders that are shorter in stature.
You are tall AND you don't have a fairing. (Unless you added one?) RK's look best with 16's. You are certainly tall enough for 16's. So, yeah, go 16's and don't think twice about it. After several rides with the 16's, you can decide how to customize your seat to make your ride even more perfect for you.
It was a really tough decision for me. I started out wanting 10s, I liked the idea of my hands not being above the fairing and the thought of not having to change cables or wires. I decided to go with the 12s because in the end I thought for all the work I wanted something that looked drastically different from stock. I'm really happy that I did. I know several guys that have 12s and 13s of other brands and the monkey bars are taller so know that going in. If I had it to do over I would go 14s or 16s. Not because I'm unhappy with what I have; I think I would like them that much more.
I just installed a set of chrome 14" demon bars on my 06 Ultra. I am looking to trade someone for 12" bars that would fit my bike. Just an idea? if you want I can send you pictures and we can go from there?
Good to hear. I am 6 foot as well. I did sit on bike with 11", but if you like the 12", I may just go with them. I have been looking at the WILD 1 versions.
