My dad is the same height as you and my 12s fit him good. He ordered a set in November but they still are not here. Maybe by February they will arrive

If your going for comfort not looks then a lot has to do with the position of the bars. Most that go for looks keep the bars as high as possible which also puts the bars as far forward as possible. I have bad back issues so for me it was comfort. The key to comfort is you need to be sitting on the bike before you tighten or have who ever does your install tighten your bars down, so you can get them right where you want them.

I went with 10's but I'm only 5'8", but I can lean back into my driver back rest when its on and still reach my bars.

Definitely I am going for comfort but cool look will obviously play into what I ultimately end up with if I'm spending the money on the YMB vs a no name on eBay... I think you've helped me decide that 12" is where I need to be. I think 14" for me will be too tall and 12" I should be able to use my stock mirrors although if I have a problem, I've seen people move them up or down depending on what's needed.

Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, I will be needing to wait on the bars for closer to riding season as the wife and I just agreed to another toyhauler and trading the 33' bumper pull in. Got too good of a deal on a 39' 5th wheel with slides - loaded to pass it up.

If all goes to plan in the next few days I should hear about a new job which would have me doubling my income and the bars will be soon to follow.

Good looking patch there brother... 22-4

I think at a minimum you should be looking at 12" bars at your height, when you get around to getting some.

Where also looking to get a toy hauler in the next couple months, just have to find the one that we can't pass up.

Were you at Nats last year in Gettysburg?

Too bad you weren't closer. Im giving anyone who can get the deal done in time - the option to buy my 2009 33' cherokee wolfpack at the trade in cost. 15500.

I wasn't at nationals... I may go this year but I could be changing jobs soon which will limit my vacation time. I am going to make Sturgis if I have to walk. lol.

I went with the 10" s cause I don't like the look above the fairing. I don't regret that size at all. This is on a 09 SG. However I rode my buddies 11RG and he has 12's and thought they felt perfect for the RG and its a badass look on that bike. If I were to ever get an RG that would be my very first upgrade.

I'm deciding if I want to go with 10" or 12" bars.
I like that 10" bars due to not having to extend the cables at all.
My question is, with the 10" bars do they really interfere with the stock faring mirrors, or are most of you with the 10" bars OK.
They 10" Yaffe bars seem to sit right at the top of the faring if not just a hair tucked below.

From one forum to the next.... Most people with 10s wind up ditching fairing mirrors.

The ones in my pic are 10's. I don't have fairing mirrors but have read a whooooooole lotta people saying you can't use fairing mirrors with 10's. I think I read one person saying you could. I think part of the factor is how tall you are and hoe long your arms are. Pushed forward like mine I think it could be done. I'm 6 foot though with long arms. I think most guys have them pulled back and in that scenario I see no way.
