Thought I would post some comparison pics I came across and maybe give a different idea. Plan on probably going with LA Choppers twin peaks. It think they look just as good as PYO MBB, but $150 cheaper. Just makes since

FYI, first time posting pics if I mess up.

I did the Harley 10" Tall boy bars and I need to change them out to the 12" PY MBB as soon as I can!!!

The 10" Tall boys look stock for most people.

was thinking 10", ended up going with 12" pre wired kits from Hill County Customs. They are perfect, great feel and control and look awesome.

I got my wild 1 chubby in 12.5". I think I'm going to return them for the 14" before I waste my time changing them out. I just really do not want to add mirrors to the bars with a batwing fairing.

Not sure how people feel about resurrecting old threads but I'm looking to put some apes on my street glide and I have a few concerns. I'll start by saying I'm 5'11" with a 34 inseam. Also I'm looking for Yaffe Monkey Bars in Chrome internal wired with ABS and TBW or a similar style

#1 - I want to use my stock mirror locations so from what I'm seeing 12" might be too short and interfere with the mirrors.

#2 - I don't want to go too tall meaning above the height of my shoulders (legal in most states.) but also not too far above the batwing to effect airflow and take to freezing fingers.

I do like the look of apes but mostly I'm going for comfortable long rides. I'm looking to ride from PA to FL in late March and then possibly ride from PA to SD for Sturgis (went last year with the RV toy hauler but considering riding for the 75th)

Any and all input is appreciated. (special points awarded for entertaining replies - lol!)

If you do go with 12's and the mirrors are an issue.
I have heard of guys taking the mirror mount out and drilling a hole a little lower on the inner fairing. This gives you a little more clearance.

Hope that helps
I have 12's waiting to be installed on my Ultra. I am considering adding street glide mirrors and forgo the stem mount

I love the idea of resurrection old threads. More info in one spot and less repetition. A guy could get his answer immediately w/o waiting for responses.

Your height and inseam indicate a short torso? Even still, 12' probably is not above your shoulders. Everything I've ever read about PYO's is that the 10's are what you can't use with fairing mirrors. I think 12" is the route you are going to need to go. 12" does clear the fairing though. Unless you pull them back pretty far, but I think they will clear the fairing no matter what. It is the reason I went with 10's. Which I LOVE aesthetically! I don't have fairing mirrors though. I'm also planning to do a drop seat kit to effectively bring them up closer to my shoulders.
