Yeah I'm down with the staggered splices. I guess my last Q was kinda stupid, I would want access to the splices. I'm picturing in my head wires that due to short length the splices would wind up in the bars but I guess they would make it out the bottum to splice. I need to get some of those little pin connectors, wonder if HD sells them.
On my RK, I didn't worry about the splices being in the bars. I wasn't concerned about problems at the splice point as I soldered and heat shrunk everything. As for needing new pins, I just staggered my cuts and added a section between each length of original wire. That way I didn't need new pins and I was sure that my color coding didn't get mixed up.

Doing the same (staggering cuts and adding a section between each length of original wire). I'd be concerned about the plug in connections with the wire extension kits coming undone inside the bars, solder joints are much stronger than the wire itself if done correctly, plus not having to make a color coded diagram drawing and the PITA reconnecting everything back into the plug connector, and saving about $50 for the kit.
For you that are rerouting to get some extra in the wire, are you internally wiring at the same time or just running them outside like stock?
I'm going 'in'ternal ...it's a little tight on the throttle side with TBW wires, but left side is not too bad going through my new 1ź" Santee bars, you have no choice but to go internal if new bars are not dimpled in which my case were not and I'm glad b/c it forces me to go internal and therefore a much cleaner look...I'll post up some pics when done.
I just finished mine a few weeks ago. I would go with the namz the hook together and you heatshrink over top of them, the heat shrink is included. Let me also recommend wild one chubbys theyre quality and customer service is top notch. If I were you i would go qith wild 1 576 14 in apes. Theyre are comfortable as can be and would not change a thing about them. Anyways I went through namz extensions, got clutch and brake through magnum and bought alloy art goodentite poly bushings. Take your time and you should be able to do it over a weekends with ease. If you run into any problems feel free to pm me Good luck.
