What is the big difference between TBW and throttle cables? Seems like you can have faster response time and no lag with cables. Whats the big deal with TBW?
Im seriously contemplating switching out bars on my '10 SG and wondering if I should keep TBW or just go with throttle cables if that's even an option.
only way to adjust the lag time on TBW is with a SE tuner, so those using PCV are out of luck.
Appreciate any info and clarification on this. Thanks.
I think you need to do something to your EFI throttle body that actuates similar to a Carb to go back to a cable. The TBW sends a signal to the throttle body with the TBW....its gonna get expensive....I don't notice any lag with the TBW?
I think there's a lot of mythology around "lag" of TBW, might have been a problem with the early TBW bikes, but I think that was fixed by an update and newer bikes dont have this problem. Are you experiencing a lag?
Reccomend you spend some time reading up on how the fuel injection systems and related the EMC setups differ on the various FI systems that HD has used over the years.
i have slight lag on my 08,plus a little surge in steady rpms.i run a pcv.vance and hines has a new product that eliminates problem but doesnt work with a tuner.supposedly redundent.post what u find out im following this thread
no lag here on the harley, my z06 was tbw and no lag, but my saturn vue had almost .5-1 sec delay was kinda entertaining.
Theres a jump in vehicles. A corvette to a saturn. Never had a lag issue with my bike. A buddy has though. He brought it to his tuner for a re-tune and he was able to take care of it.
