During my first 15 yrs of riding I encountered all manner of drivers. I adopted an "I am invisible" attitude that saved my bacon more than once. But that was back in the old, low tech days.....no cell phones, no texting, no DVD players, no nav, no touch screen A/C controls....
Now I'm about to return to riding...and my new attitude will be; "I'm surrounded by out of control vehicles!"

Thanks for asking.

I hope to get the stitches out of my left hand tomorrow. I'm pushing myself with the PT, and my knee is getting more mobile every day. I still walk with a pretty bad limp, but it's improving. Assuming that the X-Rays show everything healing well, I should get a leg brace next week and get the cast off my right hand.....That should hopefully clear me to start driving again. Realistically speaking, it sounds like I'll be cast-free and able to really move around well in early January. I figure it'll take at least a month after that of PT and weight training to get myself comfortable with the idea of supporting the weight of a motorcycle. I hope to start shopping in February.

I haven't heard back from the adjuster yet, but the consensus of everyone who's seen the bike is that it's done. If by some miracle it's not totaled, it'll be sold the second it's repaired....I won't ride it again.

Is this due to superstition, or concern over the shop's ability to get it totally straightened out?

Glad to hear you're healing up nicely. I was curious about the "I won't ride it again" comment as well.

I'll never trust the work on it. Nothing to do with the shop, just seeing it in this condition, I don't think I'd ever be comfortable on it again. Call it superstition I guess.

It's a shame, 'cause I loved riding the thing.
