Don't forget to pull those Ohlins off (they didn't get tweaked did they???). Glad you made it through with no major injury.

Boy, the guy's barely clotted and you're already parting off his bike? Just kidding... just breaking the ice (no punn intended)

Good attitude to have! Thanks for the 411 on the gear you were wearing. You just re-affirmed why I gear up every time I hop on the bike and go for a ride... even if it's just up to the store for a quart of milk.

A few years back I kissed the pavement doing 70 mph. I was more or less all geared up and walked away with minimal injuries. Took an ambulance ride to the hospital anyways just to get checked out. Never did get checked out, as I walked out when I heard it would be another 8 hours or more before a doctor could see me.

Took a taxi to WalMart and got me some medical supplies and doctored myself up. Even with minimal scratches and minor bruising, it still took me a good couple weeks to fully heal and feel good again. Can't imagine being hurt any worse and taking years to heal up like some horror stories I've heard.

Our safety manager just got back to work last week. He was on his way home from church a few weeks ago and someone cut him off similar to you. He rides a Heritage. Anyway he is in a back brace, has a brace on his leg and a brace on his arm. I don't know the extent of his injuries but I know he had some broken bones in his back. He is in a wheel chair right now.

He thinks his bike is fixable but is hoping it is totalled since he wants an Electraglide classic or an Ultra.

Many years ago my step father was rolling down a side street in Grand Forks ND on his almost new 81 yamaha 650 special. So old man pulled out in front of him then seen him and paniced and stopped, blocking the whole road. He walked away with some bumps and bruises but the Yamaha suffered pretty good. Broken quick silver fairing, bent forks, caved in tank, bent sissy bar, bent fenders, bent bars and scuffed up cases. He had the bike fixed up and then it sat for years in the garage till the valves froze up in it.

But here is too a speedy recovery!
