Built the best engine cooling system...again
you may have already thought of this, but just throwing it out there.
Sorry its been so long, and thanks to those of you who have kept an eye on my progress. Just barely starting to get warm out and Ive had a lot of inquiries as to the state of the project. Im definitely still working it but not there yet, however I have made great progress. I just got my lathe set up, wired up, and completed the break in procedure (yep, all machines have a break in procedure). I have my new welder also with spool gun, but have to modify an abandoned shopping cart for my welding cart and build a new welding table, I have to use my new lathe to repair some parts on my old Kalamazoo saw. Also have to finish reorganizing my garage to turn it into a small manufacturing facility. I have received my first run of the most complex piece that I contracted with a local machine shop. Its the central mounting piece that ties everything together, and Ive incorporated a micro toggle switch for manual operation until I can get the automatic switch taken care of. I have all of the materials and components on hand right now to complete 50 sets, just got to finish repairing my equipment and setting up. I do have an agreement with a local powder coater whos gonna take care of the paint. Happy to say Im fixing to launch my vendor sponsorship here on the forum. Look for my announcement 1 April, along with additional info and hopefully a website to go along with it. Ill be honest, I anticipate having difficulty keeping pace with demand, at least initially, but once I get rolling I should be all right. I appreciate your patience and humbly ask your continued understanding as I try to get going. Please understand that I am still active duty Army, and I must meet my obligations to the military first, but Im using all my disposable time toward getting this operation set up. Now then, one area of difficulty I havent yet overcome, and that is the automatic switch. Ive already had 2 guys that just didnt do anything with the switch and another that doesnt look too promising, almost three months and no prototype. If any of you are electronics savvy and interested in a guaranteed to make money opportunity with this switch, please PM me and we can discuss the requirements. No promises but Im shooting for late April or early May for first release. I didnt record any data, but I rode about 3 hours today since it was 84 degrees; I reset my trigger point for 45 MPH, anything from 45 to stopped, my CHTs normalized at 240. Im pretty much done proving to myself that this works extremely well, just gotta get them out to you guys and get your feedback. The attached pic is a mock up of a raw assembly so you can see the final mount design with the incorporated micro toggle, even the grandest of sausage fingers should be able to operate this switch with ease. It faces rearward, toward the rider and you should be to find it without looking with just a little practice. Thanks all.
