Here are the fans on graphs and I like the story they tell....! The only difference in environmental conditions would be that it was later in the day so the ambient temp was SLIGHTLY less and the humidity was less also. It was mid to late afternoon as opposed to 11am to 3pm where the first run took place.

Again I put the playhead (or vertical black line) through the highest head temps recorded for this run... The filename line on the top of the pic has some useful info in the name if you can decipher my hieroglyphics.
The head temps showed 316*, 298*, 332*, 329*, and 357*. This corresponds to rolling, light tfk, heavy tfk, 80mph highway, city.
The Engine temps for the same periods were 234*, 230*, 234*, 248*, and 253*.

Looking at the vehicle speed line you can tell where I was stopped or moving and make some correlation's to the other data like when temps trended up/down.

Like I said, Im not a scientist, I don't stay in Holiday Inn Expresses (for more than an hour or two at a time!) and there are sure to be flaws on my logic but I think I captured some real world results and am VERY happy I purchased Jason's product!

Default installed new snap switch

Jason sent me a new snap switch and I installed it last nite. I got the fans back on this morning and ran a test. I let the bike idle until they turned on at about 192F. I let the temp stabilize then shut off the engine. The fans shut off at 6 min with temp on the installed fin at about 140. All my readings were with a ir gun and probably not the best accuracy. Anyway it works fine. Thanks, Jason for the quick service.
I installed the new switch about 1/4" out closer to the fans so that air could get behind the switch when cooling. It did not hurt the starting point and maybe helped cool the switch faster by having cooling air surround the switch instead of being tight against the back web. I only used a little high temp RTV on the bottom of the switch and left over nite. Worked great.

Good deal, glad its working properly. You are right on the money about air cooling the switch. Basically 2 sides contact the head, bottom and back, and 2 sides are open to the air, front and top. If its installed with too much RTV it will insulate the switch and retain heat, affecting a lower "off" temp.

I’m strongly considering getting Jason’s fans, have two questions:

1. I have the Black finned head bolt bridge on my RGU, would it have to come off to get the full effect of Jason’s set up. anybody runs Jason’s set up successfully with the bridges on.

2. Anybody runs this set-up with lowers during the summer. Does the bike run cooler. I have to remove the lowers on my Ultra to ride comfortably during the summer, but I prefer if I can leave them on to get protection from debris in highways, etc...

Thanks in advance for your replies.

just install Jason's fans on my 120R. before installation typical engine temp as displayed on the power vision was 260 degrees
after installation engine temp 240 degrees

stoplight to stoplight engine temp usually would run between 280 and 300 after installation engine temp never exceeded 265

this was over the course of 3 hours during 80 degree riding in Middle Tennessee average humidity was about 70%

fans seem to be working

Thanks Jason

My O7 Electra Glide Classic always ran hot (I guess 07's are known for it)...I installed those HD plastic heat shields to the frame under the seat and put an S&S 106 kit, cams, etc... in the bike over the winter.....Well I've been stuck in traffic a few times already its HOT worst of all the bike runs like dog poo in that environment and the real hot weather hasn't even got here....Other then that the bike runs awesome.....But the few warm days, in heavy traffic are just a warning of the troubles ahead....So I started looking at options....This looks like the ticket....With out me having to read all 160+ pages, do we get a forum discount? I ask because I saw the forum I.D. on the order form...
