Audio headset plug for SG
WE are lookin to see if there is a way that is not expensive as hell to get a headset plug like on a Ultra for the passenger to plug a headset into and the passenger can plug a headset into so they can listen to the headset.

They refered me to J&M.
J&M wants super big money for anything . He will not pay that much for it.
get a radio shack 6' headphone ext. cable ( usually white).
cut off the male end.
fish the cable from the rear of the tank under neath, then follow the other cables on the right side of the neck into the fairing ( if the cable is white, you can slide a length of black heat shrink tubing over it so it blends in)
fairing outter off, strip back insulation on the cable to expose the 3 conductors, the bare is ground.
The color coding of the wiring is not consistant--- the 3 conductor headphone plug is
Tip- left
ring- right
barrel- ground
attach that the the right speaker - ( I pull the terminal off, put the new wire in place and put the terminal back over)
connect one of the other wires to the right speaker +
turn on radio, set volume to minimum- plug in your earbuds- if the right earbud is working, proceed, if the left, pull the wire from the rt + and attach the other.
you should have sound from the right earbud. if no sound- check connections.
attach remaining wire to left speaker +.
secure wiring inside fairing- cover back on
you now have headphones controlled by stereo.
IF you can just barely crack the volume on the radio and your head blows off, get an inline volume control.
to avoid alternator whine and ignition noise, the radio volume needs to be above 1/4 volume ( and yes, there will be some sound from the speakers), just back off some on the inline volume control.
that's what I've done for 15 years on baggers.

Use Original Passenger Headset harness (Part No. 76454-06) and plug it into the Non-Ultra Overlay Harness (70169-06).
The passenger connection is just the Headset wiring and plug with the cover.
Look around eBay. If not try Internet order from dealers that give a great discount. Remember that you will need
to have some way to attach the Passenger connection to the bike. If you have a Tour Pak, just hook it to the
bottom of the speaker. If not, be inventive.
The Non-Ultra Overlay Harness would be required no matter what way you went, unless you cut into your wiring. If you go that route,
you are looking for future problems with the wiring. (In my opinion) Another advantage to using the Harness is if you decided to add
anything in the future, like the CB, I-Pod Interface, or anything Harley comes up with, you already have the Harness in place.
For the rider, you can find the dash that some take off their Ultra, or build your own using the rider headset harness (77114-06).
Good luck and ride safe.

From a parts standpoint, check-out the parts book for the EG Ultra, as well as the installation instructions for making a TP detachable for an EG Ultra--HD sells a harness for the passenger that provides a headset connector for the passenger.
Short of someone posting step-by-step instructions with part nos., you need and/or your buddy need to do some homework since noone sells a "plug and play" kit. The good news is that the capability to do what you want exists, albeit not in the pre-packaged form that HD sells it.

PS: If you do anything more than simply posing the question, I hope you will share whatever that may be.

The kit Harley offers in their catalog is like over 400.00
That is to much.
CAn't believe they ain't a harness or something that will hookup so you can have a place to plug a headset into.
Then we could git a Harley 9 pin to RCA plug and plug a bluetooth transmitter into.
