Very seriously considering getting a front only setup from Jeff at Coastal Moto, he's got some pretty sweet deals going on.
Gotta question for you guys; can get either a Metzeler or Avon tire, since the rear will remain stock any recommends in terms of handling, wear and looks between these tires?

Thanks
I bought my 21" from Jeff (great guy) I wentwith the Metzeler; I had them on my Softail and liked the handling. The rear tire did wear quickly, but I rode that bike like a maniac!
I got avons with mine and they look like crotch rocket tires. A total different tire than the dunlops. I can't answer your handling question though. I haven't even rode on my new setup yet.
Coastal Moto front on Metz w/ a chromed stock rear. Rode okay...kinda fishy in the rain, but not too bad. Then I went ditch-riding.
NOW that i have matching Metz i cant believe i rode without them. First Hand Experience Opinion: swap the rear out this winter, sell the stocker, dont look back.
Also, if you're nuts about details, you'll get fed up with the stock rear pretty quick. if it doesnt bother you now, it will eventually

agreed. i had done a 21" front on my SG... after a while i couldnt take it anymore, and got the matching rear
Well don't know if this helps but I had Metzelers on my fat bob and made a huge difference in handling over the stock Dunlops. When I need tires I am going right to the Metzelers. Imo you cant go wrong with the Metz's I heard Avons are great sticky tires but wear down quick.
I have my front 21" from Coastal Moto, went with the Metzler, handles fine. I plan to have my rear chromed, the only thing you can see is the bottom part of the rim, so I don't care that it doesn't match. I plan to do streched bags so you will see even less of the rear. I plan to do an exchange with ***** Shiny, it's cheaper for me to have the front and rear chromed, than it is to buy a rear, plus that way I will have the front if I decide to sell or change back.

1. We guarantee Fitment.
2. The finish is of the highest quality.
3. We offer an industry standard warranty and if there is a warrany issue we will replace the wheel first. We do not expect you to send the wheel back and wait for it to be inspected and then re-chromed.
4. We feel there is no excuse for poor customer service. Our goal is 100% customer satisfaction.
I love my Phantoms. Coastal moto was great to deal with. The Metz are great. I did both the front and the rear. I went with 17x200 on the rear, 21 on the front. Looks and handles great. Get ready for sticker shock when you replace that fat tire if you go that route!
