CCP for SE255's in a TC96 is 186 psi, which is a good number IMO. My bike (TC96) runs cool with these cams (head and oil temp), about like stock, even with AFR's at stoich in the cruise range.

The 555/777 move the curve a little too far to the right for a bagger as far as I'm concerned.
I agree if in a TC96, but charts I've seen for the 103 are better. I think the same would go for most any cam choice except the 255, Andrews 48H, and S&S 551 (ES).

Frankly, with cams, no one can offer anything other than opinion. There is no definitive cam choice that works for all people, in all bikes, on all occasions.
Amen.

Wow. thanks to all. I have no idea which way to go. It seems that everyone has their favorites. I wish there was a way to ride a bike with each of these installed. I can dream, right.

It sounds like the only given is that the stock cam sucks and anything would be an improvement. I just have to figure out which one is best for my riding style.

Well the part number is 25458-06. So your answer is '06. They fit '06 up dyna and '07 up Softail/Touring.

I knew you'd chime in sooner or later, being such a big proponent of the 255. I don't have anything against the 255, it's just not the cam for me.

Yeah the minor compression diff in the 103 to 96 makes some difference in cam choice. In my opinion not enough to sway me from my recommendations though.

To the OP: It's winter, do a lot of reading and talking to people. There is a best choice for you. It might not (probably not) be the same choice as mine.

Consider investing a small amount of cash into some tools. Cam swaps in late model Harleys are very easy. At that point you can experiment very cheaply with different grinds.

Check out the following vid. Even if you don't end up doing the work yourself the vid is very informative:

Thanks for the video. I certainly plan to do the work myself. I don't like anyone wrenching on my things...cars or bikes.

Awesome! That makes your choice a lot less critical. You can swap cams again if you don't like the first ones you buy. Low mileage cams can sell easily on eBay or here. You won't lose too much money... And if you're like me, it'll be a lot of fun!

I wonder if they discontinued it as my 2011 nor 2012 SE catalog show it. I know there were guys that good results with it on pre 96" bikes.

Don't know if its discontinued. You're correct, it's not in my SE 2012 catalog. They're available on eBay a lot, new and used.

I still have not pulled the trigger yet bu am about to. Here is what I think I will be ordering.

Kury TL Phase 7 LED headlight & Passing lamps
Boom Audio front and rear speakers
SE 254 cams

I was at the dealer today and we were reading the SE catelog. I was almost talked into the 255s when he told me that it was a good choice because they would not void my warranty. Red Flag Up!!!

If it won't void my warranty it must be more on the tame side than the other options.

Anyway - Chrome Cash is on its way and as soon as it arrives parts will be purchased.
