Internal wiring questio
Just a quick question guys. Im about to do apes on my sg. Did you guys cut the rubber casing of the wire budle before running them. If so did you wrap the bundle in heat shrink or electrical tape before running them?
you may find that pushing a length of heat shrink tubing through, inserting the wire ends into the shrink, shrinking the tubing and pulling back through is easy.
no burrs on the bars, talcum powder for lube

Cut off factory sheath, wrapped with electrical tape, lube with silicone grease.
I ran 2 pieces of mechanics wire down the right side.
Pulled the SE TBW thru first with first piece of mechanics wire, than pulled the other wires thru with 2nd wire.Went simplier than I had ever imagined.

I cut the original wire sheath off - to big and bulky IMO. Bought some long rolls of shrink wrap and did the entire length of wires. TBW and switch wires get wrapped separately of course. I ran the switch wires first then the TBW. You will need to get rid of the green TBW plug. It will not go past the bend in the bars easily. I tried but it would come unplugged every time i put any pressure on the wires. You can either order the SE TBW set-up or just cut the plug out and splice wires back together.
If I were to do mine again I'd buy the SE TBW kit. From what I understand it eliminates the green connector. I was able to get the green connector and the standard set of wires through the RH side but it took a decent amount of coaxing. It would've been a breeze if it wasn't in there. The left side practically fell through in comparison. I left the original sheathing on, and added heat shrink over the extensions, overlapping with the original sheathing.
