Ok, I know that the majority here prefer the factory service manual over the Clymer equivalent. What I'm wondering is if the Clymer is adequate for basic, general service? Realistically, other than brakes/tires/adjustments etc, the most in depth I'd probably get is cam swap/pushrods install type stuff. I was basically thinking of supplementing it with a book version for picture tutorial and the Clymer is $20 less and has color photos. Thoughts?

I'm not familiar with the Clymer manual, but the HD one looks to be about 3 times the size - gotta be some extra stuff in there. Everything in the HDSM is well-documented with step-by-step instructions. Lots of diagrams, even if not in colour. For the sake of saving what amounts to the cost of a tank of gas.... Just sayin'
I have never got on with Clymer. At times they have given instructions which are plain wrong! I strongly suspect common sense will get you further than Clymer, but I do understand your point
