Looking to switch out the handlebars....any suggestions? I want to bring them back closer to me to decrease my reach...I have considered stock Heritage bars....they would give me a less reach...
The WO508's are great. Wires are inside and the reach is very comfortable even on all day rides. There may be other bars just as good. But, it's hard to "test" any given the problems to install them.
Heritage bars, loosen and tilt back as needed, be sure they clear the tank turned lock to lock, loosen and spin controls to level up stuff, enjoy. Most popular RK fix, worked for me. Grip changes? Keep the flow going. Plenty of threads on this one...
When reviewing responses as well as those in the Touring Handlebars sticky, please do yourself a favor and ignor those that fail to mention such things as height, inseam, sleeve length and seat in order to determine whether or not the solution would apply to you. The best solution I found for my 09 RKC was the WO-518 in combination with a Sundowner seat (with adjustable backrest). I am 5' 9", 29 inch inseam and 33 inch sleeve. The Heritage style bars with the same seat came close, but the 518s did the trick.
Good luck - took me forever to get the right combo and, at one point, I had totally given up and bought a Honda as a replacement for the RKC, but now enjoy both bikes...
