First, it appears the kit I received is purposed for a dual headlight setup (like in a car). Can someone verify this for me please? Does it look correct in the picture (aside from the 3-prong connection which obviously connects to the bike harness).

Second, May I ignore the red battery terminal and black ground wire or are they necessary in this application? If they are necessary, there are red (capped) and black connectors inline with the bikes light harness, may I use those?

Please fill in the blanks for me. Thanks.

the extra black & red wire is for the hi/lo box. & yes it needs power to work or make the push/pull work on the bulb. not sure what ampridge the box requires but it might work off the extra wires you got under the fairing.

I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track with the connections, but the real question revolves around the power and ground wires. I'll be in good shape if I can connect those to the bikes headlight harness or not have to use them at all.

I have an 07 RG and I think that wire youre showing without having the schematic in front of me is power for a fender tip light in an EG. Everywhere I have read about HID lights the instructions say to wire to battery, others are saying they are using that wire, I would be worried about a draw that could overheat the wire/harness.

I wonder what the difference in draw would be between the HID and a fender tip bulb? I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal to run a new wire from the fuse in the HID to the battery. I could still use the black wire from the harness without concern, yes?

i would check to see what amp fuse is in the harness for the hi/lo box on the HID & see what size amp fuse is for the wire for the front fender.

Good point. It's 25a in the HID harness.

OH BOY....you might want to run that wire directly to the battery. the fuel tank is easy to pull off just try to run it down a s much as you can.

Any idea why you wouldn't have had to do this, but now it's necessary to ground and power this?

the power & ground wires are just for the hi/low function. does not affect the light turning on.
