they should, all you need is about 3/4" more behind the light for the bulkyer wire harness.

I did have to rewire the power wire to reach the battery, but everything else plugged into place as I expected. The additional wiring is clearly for an additional headlight (which would require an additional ballast), so I just tucked that out of the way. Thanks for the help guys.

I took it out for a test ride last night and really like the color and clarity of this light, especially the hi-beam. I believe this will help overall visibility, day or night.

For the money you can't go wrong! I'm still waiting for a side by side with the new LEDs. I can't believe they're better then HIDs.

So it sounds like its pretty straight forward than? I will attempt my install within the next couple of weeks. I would have thought the power wire would have been long enough to reach the battery

Yes, pretty simple. The problem with the power wire is that its length is designed for a car (where the battery is usually behind the headlight). In our case additional wiring is required to reach the battery under the seat. No big deal, just a little extra time and effort to make it right; 14g wire, a little solder, heat-shrink the connection and run it under the tank with the rest of the wires.

On my Street Glide, there was also a ground screw on top of the forks ready to accept another wire. And there is only one way to plug in the rest of the wires.

im running HIDs in several vehicles i own & would recommend them to anyone.
now that being said you need to be smart about the whole HID thing.
you dont need 55 watt for driving on the street 35 watt is plenty.
proper adjustment is key so as not to blind on coming traffic, you cant just put them in & not adjust them.
do you plan on running the stock light housing that came with the bike?
do you want to keep the high beam feature?
stuff to think about.

im running the upgraded HARLEY-DAVIDSON dual element housing on my SG & im running a 35w 6K for the low beam & the 55w 6K for the high beam. all plug & play. had it on the bike for about 3000 to 4000 miles now & works perfect.
i dont have any pics of the upgradded headlight housing but you can find it in the catalog.
i get all my HIDs from DDM TUNING.
if you dont want that very slight blueish tint in your light then dont go with the 6K. i have the 5K in one of my trucks & even those have a very very slight blue to them. if i was to do it over (& the next time i place an order i will) i will put the 5K in the bike.

hope this helps, & feel free to ask me more specific questions if you have any.

Dave.
+1 I run 35W low and 55w high beam and it's nice that both hi and lo beams work on the hi position. That and higher wattage passing lamp bulbs lets me see at night on deserted country roads(read deer) and be seen during the day during weekly Chicago trips. I'm finding that the lower temp bulbs(around 4k) give me better contrast on my older eyes, but don't mind me....I just applied for Social Security.

Does anyone have a problem with it flickering? Or when you turn the bike on, it flashes and turns off, then you have to switch it off/on/off/on a couple times for it to stay on?

Do you have a relay kit? Sounds like your not getting a strong 12 volts to the ballast.

Ordered the DDM kit that was shipped directly from China. Got it all installed in the Road King and the back of the bulb is so close to the neck of the frame that you can't get your finger in between them and I'm sure the wiring harness to the bulb is rubbing. I can get full steering travel tho.

1st I'm not so sure I should take the chance of it rubbing thru and being without light one night.
2nd I wired it all up just as described here and on the DDM site and the sumbitch doesn't even work!!!!

Took the tank off and ran the power wire directly to the battery only I moved the fuse closer to the battery for obvious reasons. The short ground eye I grounded to the ground on the upper fork tree to another ground there.
Everything else is plug and play without the play!
I mounted the ballast to the frame on the right side just rear of the steering neck, zip tied the small box that comes off the ballast to the steel brake line inside the Necelle, and mounted the hi/low box to the small plate on top of the tree where other factory wire connectors are mounted.

Just to make sure I didn't blow the headlight fuse I unplugged the connection that should go to the factory bulb and plugged it in and the factory bulb works.
What the hell???????

Scratch all that!! Tested the power connector to the ballast and it had power. Got to looking closer and the ballast power connector will plug in backwards but it doesn't lock.
Plugged it in properly and all is well.
It's plug with the play! Lol
