The bikes I am referring to are completely stock mapped with either full exhaust or slip ons and stage I or big sucker type filters. Like I said, this is what I experience on our dyno with me running it. That's what I go off of. I don't rely on what i read in a magazine because, IMO, an article in a magazine could be nothing more than an advertisment. There are alot of exhaust and air cleaner manufactureres out there that want people to believe that they will be fine without adding a tuner of some sort. They want people to believe this because for alot of people, adding the cost of a tuner and a dyno tue to the cost of a simple stage I might be the deal breaker for many.

As for the "tuner" you are referring to, I can't speak for him and what he has witnessed, I have never heard of stock o2 sensors adjusting 6% +or - 2. (not that it might not be true, I juts have never heard it). But look at it this way, if it is true, an open filiment (big sucker type) air cleaner will flow more than 6% more air than a stock filter. So even that logic doesn't hold water with me.
I have no reason not to put a lot of confidence in what you are saying. What I am saying to anybody who doesn't know and is asking like the OP. Anything I read on here, I would do some research and talk with Knowledgable people about it. I know how different Dealer stories can be. I've been that route. That's why I went to Tuner's I know from the old racing days that would shoot straight with me. Ride Safe!

Bunch of dentists, lawyers and wanna be ex 'drag racers' on this site. Good for them... none can see the truth if you hit them over the head with it and they all gang up on the 'bully'.

Absolutely a scam on later models.

FWIW, my stock map had a 14.5 AFR to 2500 rpm & 60 Kpa, drops from there.

From what I'm reading in here I can just slap in a K&N and I'll be ok right? I put aftermarket baffles and a K&N on my previous bike which was a carb'ed Honda and didn't have to worry about the air fuel mixture settings. Until I rejetted the carb. Again sorry for the stupidity. Still learning the Harley. Thanks in advance.
You'll be ok, but the bike will still be running lean.

If you rejetted your bike, you did change the A/F ratio. Look at the fuel injection A/F ratio as the same as rejetting a carbed bike, just cost more...

People get pissed when you tell them something other than what they want to hear, or something that upsets their apple cart and preconceived ideas.

People want a quick, simple, inexpensive fix that solves all their problems. TANSTAAFL people, get used to it.

No it wasn't mine. Here is before and after. I will also show another that is the difference between a download vs a tune. These sheets only show wot. The big difference is how much better the bike runs where you actually ride it. Anyone that has never ridden a properly tuned bike doesn't know what they are missing.
