SE 204, SE 211, 254E, 259-E, SE 255's for a 103? I'm confused...
decisions decisions ??? looking to do a cam upgrade on my 103? been suggested to go with the 204's you'll love it, then I hear naw...go with the 259's?
or is it a 'different strokes' (no pun intended) for 'different folks' kind of thing?
I'm about 50/50 on local and freeway riding, btw.. what size are the stock cams in the 103's?
Are you having someone else install the cam? Most builders will suggest a cam based on your riding style. Personally, i don't think you can go wrong with the 204. I've heard it's a good all around cam but has some tuning issues. That's why is good to have your installer/tuner one and the same.
You should absolutely do the 259e because that's what I did and I need the validation,
LOL It depends on a lot of things like where do you want your power to come in at.
Like say 0 to the next red light, or at 67 mph in a 70 mph speed limit behind an 18 wheeler going down a hill and the double yellow line comming up fast, or flat out trying to see just how fast your harley will top out. Also how much compression are you willing to run? It all matters in the cam game. Here you go http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...bmLocale=en_US
check out page 70 and 71
I find cams like ***** and butts, depends on what you like, some like um tight, big, small, with cams it's the same, different brands, some do different things, you need to find out what you want your bike to do?
And the bottom line is how much money are you willing to spend on your project?
I just spent $920.00 on having my heads ported, polished, new valves and guides, had the cylinders honed, New gaskets for my 1550.
That doesn't include anything else!
I just installed the new Woods 777 cams in my 2010 road king police, with bassani 2 into 1, breather, adj. pushrods, lifters and re-map got 100 h.p. and 108 torque.. Feels great, nice and torquey!!
