I took the forks apart, gave them a good cleaning, installed new fork seals in my eBay chrome lowers. Then spent Sunday doing a little body & spray paint work. 1 coat of PPG DP90 epoxy primer over the scuffed cowbells and fork tin, wait 60 minutes, then two coats of PPG Deltron Synergy color, followed by 3 coats of PPG concept 2021 clear. Let her dry over night then did a little re-assembly work.
Next weekend I'll start smoothing the front fender and doing a Native Custom Baggers dropped fender kit.
I need some suggestions for a cheap exhaust solution. Thinking of re-baffleing the stock pipes. I'd like to do tru duals and Rineharts but that's an extra $1000.00 that won't fit into this winters budget. Maybe next winter.
Also ideas for air cleaner/intake system.
Remember "Cheapskate".
Looks like you're off to a great start. For exhaust check CL. Some guys change their pipes like my wife changes her shoes. I picked up a pair of Supertrapps like new for $125. Keep posting pics !
Off to a good start, REALLY DIGGIN THE WORK TABLE! Exhaust id say +1 for Craigslist, got my fatcat for 100$ (granted has road rash but just turned the muffler around and welded new mounts n off to the powder coaters)
Otherwise do the cfr knock offs on ebay "harley megaphone mufflers" its like 200$ for chrome and 185$ for black and they sound beyong awsome
Coolerman69, I think that's the way I'm leaning, the Fulsac TD's and then either the Wild Pigs E straight cuts, sounds like a better deal than cutting the stock pipes and doing the Fulsac baffles. I'll PM when the time gets near for more info.
Nightrider05 tax, I looked at Harbor Freight lift but I thought it was too weak for a hog. You can grab a handle bar and shake with no fear of it falling over. You can unbolt the winch and use it on a car hauler or atv
