No, I run that all the time. The least I try to run it is at 2000 unless it is a easy going cruise.

Anything below 2000 ond the engine is lugging (per Harley). I have always ridden my bikes "by the tach", keeping the RPM's in the 2200-2800 range. Speed is governed by gear selection.
I might do another one next winter, but for someone else or to sell. I like this one. Went out for about a 40 mile ride today, freshly licensed.... I hate the oil pressure at idle but I understand its normal. Somewhere around 6 to 8 psi hot. Runs about 34 to 36 at cruise which I guess is around 2800 to 3000 rpm. Maybe that's to high in the rpm range, should I drop them down to 2300 to 2500?
Oil pressure is normal, mine has over 125,000kms or 78,000 american and my oil pressure is the same, as for RPM i run it anywhere from 1600 if Im putting in town and want to go in "stealth mode" HAHA...but mostly live around 1800-3800 if Im cruising at highway speeds....er or slightly above the "posted" limit
Update: Last Saturday I rode to Frontier Harley's 25th anniversary party. All went well. On the way home I stopped by the local store to pickup a mothers day card. When I came out all I got was a couple of backfires then nothing, would not even engage the starter. So I sat and thought who could come get me or help me get home. Anyway ended up coasting down the hill in the parking lot and doing a bump start.
Road home about 9 miles voltage showed 14+ the entire way. When I got to the shop I took off the seat and checked the voltage, showed 14.35 volts at idle. Next I turned her off and read 13.25 volts. Sunday morning I went out and read 12.97 volts which is about correct, so I pulled the battery out and took it into town and used a computerized tester 3 times and came back 100% charged and good battery.
Next went over to Frontier (open 12-4 on Sunday) and picked up a new positive cable. Went back home installed new cable, and also replaced crimped eyelet on the positive lead to the master fuse with new soldered on version. They did not have a new negative cable in stock. So I just ended up cleaning the battery end and the frame connection. I could not get to the one under the starter.
This weekend I will make a few 15 to 20 mile trips and then come back home and check the voltages and make sure she starts. Don't want to get let down again.....
