Next weekend I will be purchasing a Streetglide (FINALLY) Ive made my mind up if I decide to get a new one Im going to get the flat black, If I cant work the deal out on a new one Ive seen the same dealer has a few to choose from, in Silver, Blue and or course Vivid. Any chance I can get some of you guys to post a few pics of the silver in gloss or flat... I think I like the silver almost as much as the flat black, Just having a hard time deciding.... Thanks
Mine was originally Denim Blue but I had it painted. Was going to do a super dark charcoal, almost black, but after seeing a few here and online in the silver (knowing ahead of time I was going to black it out) I decided to go with that. Only difference is that I split the finish. Not Gloss and not Denim. I had my painter do it in a Satin finish. Best of both worlds! Super easy to clean, no waxing and still shows the metallic in sunlight like no tomorrow. I love it and get lots of compliments.
Something I will look into thanks.... Also I have a little concern over the flat paint... Is it any more troublesome than a gloss paint... I can remember back in high school I had a car with flat primer... That thing was a pain in the ***.. it seemed like the finish absorbed everything...
Everyone will have their opinion but the guys I know that have Denim can't stand how it shows everything, especially the black. Forget trying to get out a scratch or rub mark, ain't happnin. HD can't even match the sheen on replacement parts. One buddy of mine went down and had to replace a bag and lower and they looked different. Even tried to get a good painter to match it and never could get it quite right. I had my outer sprayed matte Silver just to see if I'd like it and it showed oil spots everywhere from riding behind cars in just one day. Hence my "in between" finish. Don't know if any of this helps but it's my experience...
I don't know about that? My Brilliant Silver Pearl looks absolutely beautiful in the sun.
I agree the silver looks stunning in the sun. I have regretted getting black over the silver. I was being a tight *** and did not want to spend theextra money for the silver and have regretted it every time I see a silver one glittering in the sun.
The flat has always concerned me.. Im glad Im getting this feedback BEFORE and not AFTER.. I seem to be coming back to the silver.. Thanks for all the input..
