Default sirens on h/d alarms

On the new security systems when the siren gos off dose it only go off when someone is messing with it or dose it stay on . I use to have alarm on cars I disconnected because a strong wind or a loud muffler would set it off and you have to run find your fob to turn it off , Thanks Oscar

I've got an '06 RK and the alarm has a sensitivity setting you can adjust. My siren is the "Harley-DavidsonÂŽ Factory Security System Smart Siren Kit" part # 68328-02.
The siren is basically a "plug-and-play" part which reacts to the factory alarm's inputs.

If someone gets on the bike and turns the handlebars or lifts it off of the jiffy stand, it will yelp once as a warning. If the movements continue, it will fully activate the siren. I've never had it go off from the wind or exhaust vibrations.

I had this siren on a Heritage and it's yelp was less restricted by body panels than it is on my Road King. The restrictions on my RK install muffle the sound slightly, but it is still loud enough.

Edmo, any way to make the siren louder? I'm about to install mine and would like it to be as loud as possible.

Hey FLHT, how far do you get out of the pager? What are your experiences with distance from bike alerting.?

I think HD says about 3/4 mile straight sht distance. I have used it mostly while at work. I would say when in the building I am probably 1/4 mile from the bike and in a steel and concrete building and it picks up just fine. Some day I will mess around with it to find out just how far away I can get. The pager itself will tell you when you are out of range.

I added the optional criminal removal system, it is a hidden laser that puts a red dot on his chest as he sits on my bike. LOL
