Default Oil Leak!!!!!!

Last year I was having some oil leaking from what I thought was the outer primary on my 2005 Electra Glide Classic. I've had all the seals and gaskets (James Gaskets and Seals) replaced. Had neck surgery and have not been able to ride for months now. Guess what????? Still leaking!!!!!! Any suggestions????? I'm looking at new outer primaries as we speak. I even had the shifter shaft seal replaced. I'm little frustrated.

Thanks.

So I am assuming you can't tell where it's coming from. Where are the drips. Try putting cardboard underneath, get the bike hot, then slide the cardboard underneath and try to trace the drip.
I hope you get it sorted out

2 things come to mind. When the primary cover was replaced, were the bolts torqued and blue lock-tight used?
Were the o-rings on the drain plugs replaced?

Oil filter leaks are hard to see but it's up front so oil will blow back all over everything. Start at the forward most dry area and work back. On lift and underneath is best.

Check the grommet where the stator wires come through the crankcase. That's where I found my first oil leak. A little cleaning, black silicone, and it's dry as a bone now. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-oil-leak.html

When i 1st got my EG it leaked oil and i swore it came from the primary. Turns out it was from the oil filer cap and was blowing when ridden and flowing across underneath when put on the jiffey stand. The O ring had been omitted during manufacture.

I just had mine fixed. The Sator cord as discribed above was the culprit. Covered under warranty on 11 FLTRU.

Check to see if there is oil up where your trans pulley is. I had the race walk on the main shaft so the seal was no longer making contact. If so ....youll have to pull your primary, inner primary and pulley off. Cut the race off or use a puller (which doesnt work well) and press on new race on to the correct depth.

+1..this is where my leak was, but I swore it was coming from the under the primary. If this seal is leaking the oil travels right along the primary seal and and dips. I bet this is where it is. Good luck

On your bike year the inner primary uses a silicone sealer around the inner primary mating surface and the bolt holes. If done improperly this can lead to leakage even though you replaced all the seals. The bottom bolt sits in the oil bath and is especially prone to leaking if not done properly. It would leak down underneath by the counter sprocket. Not saying this is where yours is leaking but, just additional info. I am attaching a thread on replacing these seals for you to read if it is of any help.
