Question Advice on Converting to LED lighting?

I have to ask...

I would like to convert all my lighting over to LED's. Any advice would be great. Bike is a 2000 Ultra Classic. I don't to screw up my electrical system.
I am over whelmed by the choices, just change to a LED bulb? load equalizers?

Thanks

you'll need to figure out equalizers.

Custom Dynamics amongst other can put together ( probably) everything you need-

at this point i don't think it pays for itself to convert a bike over.

there is a very, very good comparison of the trucklite vs HD led headlight, but the cost on those is reediculous. You can google for it

Here is what I did. Not cheap, but it makes a huge difference.

Headlight and Passing Lights-Harley

Front and rear Turn Signals-Harley

Brake Light-Bright *** Light (BAL-1)

+1 on Custom Dynamics. When I get ready to do my headlight I will most likely go for the truklight as it is supposed to be more visible to oncoming traffic in daylight.

Custom Dynamics for your front and rear fender tips, turn signal clusters, tour pak rear and and side markers.

Truck Lite LED headlight

BrightAssLights taillight

Biketronics Smart Equalizer. Only one needed for the whole bike.

You will be nice and bright.

I'm curious also, as to when the load equalizers come into play, and what exactly they accomplish. I've read you can do the harley led brake light ( or BAL ) and harley turn signals and they don't need load equalizers. Are they built in Harley and BAL's ? and not Custom Dynamics ? I've also read Truck Lite's are just plug and play also. Not the case actually ?
Are load equalizers just putting a load on the charging system to make up for the led's lack of current draw ?
Sorry if I'm highjacking your thread TO34.

LED taillights do not require a load equalizer. LED turn signals do. Basically a load equalizer compensates for the low power draw of LED signals. It keeps you from suffering hyperflash. Which is what you get when an incandescent bulb is burned out.

As far as the HD LED signals I have heard that they have some sort of load equalizer built in. But I can't say for sure.

Truck Lite LED headlights are completely plug n play. It is as easy as removing the stock headlight housing and replacing it with the TL. It plugs right in to the stock socket. No modification required.

Thanks for the explination Garemlin

I just found this on Custom Dynamics web site

"Stock flasher relays on motorcycles are designed to blink twice as fast as normal when a bulb is burned out to alert the driver of this condition. Leds consume so little power compared to the stock bulbs, that the flasher relay thinks that a bulb is burned out when LEDs are used in place of stock bulbs. If you have replaced your stock turn signals with LEDs and your turns signals flash too fast or do not flash at all, you will need to add a Equalizer, or replace your flasher relay."

I know you said LED, but I went with an HID headlight,
custom dynamic sun spots,
http://www.ridetimetechnology.com/, led tour pak, progressive turn, fender tip run, turnbrake led, brake light, and tour pak led light bar. should have gone with the smoked from custom dynamic
