My stock windshield was right at my natural line of sight. I always found myself sitting up straight to look over it, or slumping down to peek underneath it... very annoying. There are a lot of windshield makers out there, but I got the OEM replacement line made by Memphis Shades... 2" inches shorter than stock, for $96. A great upgrade for me... for both basic comfort and better natural line of sight.

Thanks! Gives me a good idea of how far the bars are away from the LRS.

Once again its what you like. Lots of wind in your face with no windshield at 60 mph and the fun part isn't very fun especially if your an old guy. I can easily look thru the center of the windshield on my 2011 Heritage, lean into the backrest, feet up and enjoy the ride. If you look over the windshield, it should be by a couple of inches otherwise wind currents swirl around your eyes, not good. Long trips with rain, got to have the windshield. Put on a wax that lets the rain flow right off the shield but make sure it doesn't damage polycarbonate.

When I bought my 2011 RKC I was looking smack dab through the top of it, plus I was getting some wind buffetting. I swaped out for a 2 inch shorter Clearview with the recurve lip and it made the ride much more enjoyable. Now the shield is about nose level so I look over it and the wind buffeting is gone. In fact, it is total quiet air behind the shield.

I did not like looking through the shield. Last year, I was driving through the central Idaho mountains along the Salmon river during a big fly hatch and the screen was totally covered in 15 minutes. Had I had to look throught the screen, I would have had to clean it every 5 miles or take a break until the hatch was over.

Windshields on a motorcycle were not made to look through. They distort your vision. They should come up to the tip of your nose.
