Noticed on the 09 and newer touring models most true dual headers aren't available in the "cross over" style, meaning the rear headpipe does not cross above the transmission on the left? Is there something different about these years that prevents this?
Personally I prefer the "newer" TD look. I like both, but I like that you get closer to equal length headers with the "tuck and wrap" style like the new Dresser Duals and such.
the x on the right makes it closer to the dip stick and if like the stock pipe(I have not seen personal) the cross under pipe may have been reduced in diameter for ground clearance. I do like the equal length idea but not the look and possible draw backs so i went with the classic RHs and love them
I put Vance and Hines true duals on my 2012 Ultra this winter. The pipes follow the same path as the stock pipes, except that they do not merge where the catalytic converter used to be. I liked it because it really did not change the look of the bike. Only the performance and sound.
