Was riding my Ultra Classic Friday and made a stop. Tried to start bike and security system would not disarm. Starter would not work, alarm went off, lights flashing for about 5 seconds. Thinking the battery was bad in the FOB, started to replace battery. System disarmed. Cycle stared and finished ride and came home. Was trying to troubleshoot problem Saturday and same thing happen. FOB battery good, Cycle battery good,
Question: Had on insulated jeans with a cell phone pocket on the right side.
Had my FOB on a loop above cell phone (touching) Could this have cause interference of FOB communicating with security system???
I'm thinking maybe.. What do you think?
How old is the battery in your FOB? Maybe it was not making good contact due to corrosion on the contacts with the battery and when you took it apart it then made contact? Over time electrical contacts build up invisible corrosion that you can't see. Clean the battery and contact with a good eraser or rubbing alcohol.

I think you might be right - if it does it again, move the fob away from the cellphone and see if it clears.
I do the electronics on solar powered circulators. Some of our customers want SCADA (radio comm, mostly) and we get interference at times like that. Fixed most of the time by just moving ant. location.

Mike,
I did not get a chance to open the FOB before system disarmed. I think by just removing FOB from near the cell phone allow the FOB to get a signal to the security system and disarm the system. Will try the other FOB when weather permits.
I had a problem with my security alarm communicating with bike to dis-alarm once. I had to take the fob out of my pocket to start the bike.
I did have both the fob and cell phone in the same front pocket.
Now I always put each in a separate pocket and change the battery yearly (On my birthday)
easy to remember......lol
Also practice using the manual override using the turn signal buttons
you have it right. I put my fob in my windshield pouch. when i put my cell in the same pouch it wont start. if i put the phone in the opposite end pouch it will start everytime. cant say for sure but it sure seem funny that i never have problems with the phone in the other pouch.
