Metal Slap
I have a new 2012 HD Ultra Limited. I just put 1000 miles on it and yesterday at idle if I crack the throttle open it sounds like metal slapping in the motor. Oil level is good, pressure seems ok, but along with this annoyance it has started to backfire a bit. I had Rienharts put on it and mapped with a less restrictive air kit....everything great until the 1000 mile mark. Any advise?

Wish I could help but I wouldn't fool around with it. Take it back to the dealer, assuming it was a dealer that did the download and have them look at it. She's way to young to have this issue. Good Luck. Keep us posted

did and they sent me home....but I have to turn it in tomorow for 1000 mile check. They told me they would address it then. I just wanted my concerns note in case of a major problem.

I put the 107 kit in mine with the 777 cam after 100 miles it made that noise and got worse tore motor down found nothing thanks to jim at fuel moto it is a valve spring yours might be the same thing harleys valve spring pressures arent consistent

I had a noise develop in mine. Sounded like metal slapping when I snapped the throttle. Turned out to be a blown head gasket.

They think it's spark related....in shop with the understanding not to return until problem is resolved. I hope they do not start to play games...I am too old for the run around.
