Hey chuck your post burns my azz.You must be a real piece of work. Most of these guys can deal w/the noise as long as a fix was coming. The problem isnt as much the bikes but the way the MOCO has treated them while trying to get their new bike to act the way the better ones are. These guys are making the payments or have already and just want what the bike was talked up to be.You seem to know alot aboutGoldwings?

The biggest issue with the '07's are the owner's spend more time complaining about them then time actually riding them. I know several people with stock '07's that love them. I could only wonder how many people complained about noisy transmissions on a Shovelhead. Ride it! If it's too lean, burn a hole in the piston and take it back. Warranty will cover it. The only "whine" I hear is on this forum.
the harley se 6 speed they installed over the last few years is silent and indestructable. I ride with a 115hp duece and we ride hard. the bike and tranny are solid. Remember it COST and the engine mods were done by a pro. Stronger bearings, rods, valve, springs, pistons. But the se6speed is true to design. UNlike the new mid grade 6 speed. cut corners ,lower desoign spec and that's what hd is selling knowing damn full well it is inferior to what they have been selling as upgrade for the past few years.
Really, how else could they sell the NEW 96 with 6 speed for the same price as last years 88 with a 5 speed.
get real what the hell do you need a 6 speed on a air cooled pushrod engine for in the first place.

Yep, 2 mos., 4600 miles, too busy riding for whining. Love this bike ('07 Roadglide), no buyer's remorse here. Still stock, waiting 'til after the holidays to save up some cash for some performance mods. Not 'cuz it needs them, but 'cuz I wants them. 5th gear whine? Come ride my panhead. Of course you can't hear much tranny noise on the pan with all the clanging from parts falling off!
I have a new 07 Ultra the trans noise has got better. I can live with it, nice bike fun to ride. I had the new down load done it really helped out the bike and the ping went away. BUT GUESS WHAT IT'S BACK and now I have another appointment to fix it and the shimmy in the front end. BUT I GUESS WHAT TICKS ME OFF IS THE FACT THAT I AM PROBABLY GOING TO LEMON LAW IT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I THOUGHT I BOUGHT A QUALITY BIKE BUT I GUESS NOT. If you guys had bought a new bike and you could not even go up a hill with out it pinging to death you would probably say something to, but since you do not have the problem then someone is whinning. I ride with 20+ friends with Harleys and they can not believe how CRAPPY this new bike is. I guess Harley lost it.
No matter what it is crappy low octane fuel cause's PING. Ping is predetination its that simple, you should only run the best gas you can find. Premium is not all the same. Change gas and stations and see if it stops. In todays market where gas is so expensive who knows if some stations cut corners. I fill my truck at quick trip, it pings on regular always has, so I use middle grade 89, lately it has been pinging on it. I changed stations and it went away, was I buying 89 but getting the cheaper 87. I think so.
I would be curious as to who of you that have had this major transmission whine problem have actually schuked chicken bones out of the trans case? How many have burnt holes in pistons from being way too lean? How many miles, and it is "completely" stock? Please post only if stock, and any of these have happened. Inall these posts' I haven't heard of anyone having a failure. No insult, just questioning.
