Recently got unexpected time off and the wife told me I should go to bike week. no camping plans yet but I'll be heading down from SC on the 15th for a few days. No idea really what to expect. Never been.
everyone use caution..I here the LEOs are gona have M/C check points on I95 & I75 agin..
There are NO interstate MC checkpoints on 75 in south GA to Daytona...
Lets not start this up again. Last year was really obnoxious with all the complaints and I didn't see the first one. I live on 75 at the GA/FL line.
You just have to consider for your travels
1. How long you wanna take on travel. If your into the ride to and from there are plenty of rides that offer more scenery.
2. MPH you wanna ride. Back roads at comfy speeds or interstate with commuters in there cages zooming by and cutting you off just to make the exit they knew they were gonna need to get off at miles ahead.
Most are just anxious to get there and party.
Being so close for me 75-10-295 BYPASS-95 is the way to go. 3 hrs for me. Whatever way you go good luck on your journey.
Ya gotta stop by Flanigans (I believe it's the name of the joint across the street from the beach) in Flagler. Best fish & chips I've ever had in my 47 years on earth!OMG GOOD!
Used to be Finnigan's, now it's just Finn's. You're right, the food is good & the view is better. 'Specially if you can get a table on the deck next to the rail on the ocean side. For those that don't know, corner of SR-100 & A1A. I do it a few times a year since I live about 10 miles south........
Leaving out of Lexington SC on the 10th. at 8:00 am.. Staying in Ormond Beach. 10th through the 18th. Can't wait, I really need a vacation. Thinking of making the run to the Keys as well.
We are trailering two bikes down from Atl. on the 15th and returning on 18th. We have a buddy that has a place in Flagler he will be there so we will do a few ride and see Main St. ,Bruce Rossmeyers, Beach St. Iron horse and some of the others. We will be going 75 to 10 to 95 to the Flagler exit I believ it is hwy 100??? then AIA to Ormond Beach to unload and park the trailer then Ride helmet free .
ride safe
I can't make it this year, maybe next, but tell Pete I hope you all really enjoy it, ride safe without the lids, and take plenty of pics.
