Default How to remove front fairing on a 2012 FLTRX

The Stealer is wanting to charge me an hours worth of labor to change out my speakers. I know it can't be that damned hard. How do you take the fairing off? It looks like all you have to is removed the bolts from the inner fairing. Gonna ask before I go to work on it.

Go to the step-by-step instructions by "wachuko".
Very clear instructions, good photos, excellent !!!
Printed them out and saved them to refer to another day.

Do it yourself. Between the instructions on the speakers and the link above it is no problem.

Don't pay the dealer for a simple job. Buy a manual or search for a thread here or on road glide.org there are Plenty of info. Easy job only Takes a tork screwdriver remove the headlamp and the inner fairing screws 10-15 minutes to remove. A little longer to install because of the gasket make sure you get it over the book on the top

3 Screws across the top under the windscreen, 2 screws on the sides near the forks and 2 more screws down below the speakers. Once it's loose reach in and pull the plug for the headlight. That's it.

I know Road Glide/SharkNose fairing is a tad different than a Street Glide, but believe what other riders are posting...not hard @ all & definitely no need to pay dealer for this project.

Get the $60 service manual now because this 1-project pays for it over 1-hr labor rate @ HD...

Take your time...... COVER YOUR FENDER AND TANK. If you remove the headlights, it is easier to reassemble, and get the hooks lined up right. But if you are patient, it's not necessary. For me taking the headlights out vs not is a wash in the time it takes.

And don't over tighten the torx when you put it back together. They can strip out easily.
