What makes the non vented lowers not fit with stock turn signals but the vented ones do?

SG turn signals are too low for the non vented shape (hope you understood with my poor english). If you have CVO/SG passing lamps, it will work like i did.

And sometimes pics explain better then words...

I scored a set of lowers on E-Bay for $280.
But I do need to paint them, I just might rattle can them flat black

So just to be sure I'm not a dumb dumb. The non vented lowers sit taller than the vented ones?

i've never used them, nor even seen them used, but i've always heard that it just makes it a 'toolless' install/removal, but not substantially quicker. there's only 3 bolts, how much easier can it be?
