So I went to the Harley shop today to look into getting a set of lowers for my SG. I wasn't at all surprised at the cost. 649 for the vented painted ones. What got my goat was the 169 each for the plastic glove boxes. That's ridiculous. Anyone know somewhere else I can get the boxes?

gloves boxes on the classifieds here almost every day. ( guys who mount speaker boxes sell the glove boxes)

order the lowers from one of the online dealers and save 20% and sales tax

careful with ebay deals _ some of the aftermarket stuff may or may not fit.
If you do, test fit before spilling your $$ on paint.

There's almost always some on eBay. Here is a set of glove boxes for $189.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking online. The local dealership doesn't give discounts or do deals on anything. I drove 4 hours just to buy my bike because I knew they wouldn't give me a good deal.

Since you have an SG, buy the VENTED fairing lowers--they come with the glove boxes--no need to buy glove boxes separately. See this product description:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

It's only the non-vented lowers that don't come with glove boxes and must be purchased separately.
