Default Replaced clutch spring, issues! help

So I replace the stock spring with the Barnett HD spring. Pretty straight forward and easy. got everything back togeather and now the clutch isnt working. Pull lever and put bike in gear and it wants to take off without letting clutch out?? I have tried to adjust everything about 10 times now with same results? Anyone have any ideas of what I could of done wrong?

Just curious... why were you compelled to change out the spring? Clutch slipping?

Might be worth a call to Barnett to get their take on the issue. I bet they have coached folks through this before. Sorry about all the trouble. But you will get it whipped, no doubt.

for those who have replace their stock spring for the SE version, have any of you had issues like this? I am baffled here. Thinking about putting stock spring back in just to see if it works. PITA!

I've replaced the stock spring with a little heavier one, without re-adjusting anything, and the clutch behaved the same...

You might want to re-check the install and adjust as per manual.

+1 after ensuring that the *****/ramp are oaky, you should have "slacked" the clutch cable on the way prior to the install, then tightened it enough to allow 1/4 inch paly in the lever...I think.

check with the OEM.....some of these kits specifically recommend tranny fluid instead of gear/motor oil.....your plates might just be sucked together from using the wrong fluid.

always only used Harley Primary fluid. How do I ensure ball and ramp are ok? I dont want to pull exhaust and all that crap. Heading out to garage now to pull everything back apart. Fun Fun! Does it matter if the cable is slacked before or after spring install?? The manual doesnt specify how to change just the spring, probably cuz its should be super easy!
