On way to work today my RK was acting up- bike seemed to be farting when I twisted the throttle- after a while of this the engine light came on. Light would go off when I let up on throttle.
We had a mild winter so I've been running it frequently. I did just put gas in it yesterday.
I'm at work right now and don't have a huge array of tools- any ideas or suggestions?
I was planning on disconnecting the battery and trying to reset it.
Any help would be appeciated.
Don't disconnect the battery. Get the fault code and see which one it is. There is a procedure in the service manual that describes how to do it. On my EVO, you have to turn the ignition switch on and off twice, back to on, then count the number of times the light blinks so see which code it is. You then look that up in a table and it tells you what's wrong with it. Pretty easy.
Thanks for the tip- I came up with codes 24 and 25.
If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.
I want to know if it's OK to drive it home at least- 25 min ride.

In the 2007 touring manual there are no such codes as 24 or 25. Should be a P0*** type number such as a P0562 is low battery voltage.
