Default charging promblems

2012 cvo ultra classic, I'm haveing all kinds of issues, voltage regulator was recalled, the dealer installed a new one, no issues for about 6 months, voltage meter starting to not showing it's charging so I changed the battery, again no promblems for about a week, rode to work and noticed the voltage not charging, left work and got one mile from the house and everything died... Trying to troubleshoot now, my guess is the stater. Only strange thing is that it's not showing any codes on the odomenter, go figure?

this was suppost to have been a "limited problem" with streetglides only from what i read. i took mine in last year when i learned of the problem they checked the vin and luckly mine wasnt one that was to not have a problem. from what i see of everyones location seems alot of the bike got sent south.

2012 Ultra Classic here. I just installed my 4th regulator the first two were put on by Harley the first one at about 400 miles the second one a year-and-a-half later when the third one went up I said the hell with it and bought a cheap Chinese knock-off for $60 that lasted about 2 years and now I've installed the 4th one and it didn't correct the problem so I think I might have stator issues has anyone ever determined the problem with The Regulators in the first place?

Well my 2011 lost one last spring. Then another in the fall. Then another this past month. The last one was a Cycle Electric one . They suggested that the oil coolers added on the 103's are causing the voltage regulators to get too hot. Either way after this last failure they suggest that my stator might be breaking down when working real hard . (Last two times for sure I had heated gear on and Stereo amp was blasting). There was no warning just a sudden drop in voltage and a mad ride for home before it dies. So I have replace both my stator and regulator again, gone over the wires and cleaned every connect. Inspected rotor while changing stator. So far so good but time will tell. Cycle Electric will warranty the regulator. Harley would not .
