The former owner of our old 03 Ultra had one on it when we bought it. I thought it looked dumb as the bike was Luxury Red. DH took it off a few weeks later, was almost afraid to see what it was covering up, but fairing looked new. It does keep bugs off the fairing, but you still have to clean bugs of the bra so didn't save on cleaning time. I think it's in a cabinet in the garage....I'm sure he won't put it on the white 12 Ultra !
Nothing like a good discussion about "covering up" to generate some levity and gain the view (insights?) into the character of Man (or is that woman)?
Excellent feedback but I'm still on the fence. I do agree that getting something new like a fairing and then covering it up, does not make much sense. I just finished putting the pin stripping and chrome windshield accent on the thing so why would I want to cover up my beautiful work???
I think I'll just put another coat or two of synthetic wax on it, and do without the bra.
Now if I can just talk my wife it doing the same thing, this will be a great day..
This would make a very interesting Poll on the forum.
I personally don't like the looks of them at all but that's the personal side of me coming out. I'd rather the potential for a stone chip than driving around with one of them on, just like seatcovers on a car.
