Default Front disc warping after 6k miles??

Went for a ride today and I started thinking that for a while now there is a uneven surging coming from the front brakes. When the rear only is actuated it is as smooth as always. I don't ride my brakes and not hard on them so is this unusual for a newer 2011 bike please? I feel no pulsing through the brake leaver but a definite uneven surge from the front. Will the dealer give me a hard time and possibly not cover this under warranty?

Should be under warranty.....One caliper must be sticking, not any reason for him to go Opra on you ?

I had one front rotor replaced under warranty on my 2011 Limited. Just measure the runout. If it's .008 or more they should replace it.

I measured mine at .008. Took it in and told them, they verified my measurement and replaced it on the spot.

No hassle at all - except I tried talking them into giving me the rotor so I could replace it myself and they wouldn't go for that.

They shouldn't give you any problems, Brembo rotors wear out faster than the tires. I don't get the hype, they kinda suck. Mine warp every 10K.

My experience is, the stock Harley rotors--those provided with pre-08 bikes as well as those (11.8") provided with Brembos--warp pretty readily. I suspect at least in my case, one hard stop is about all it takes, or one 10 or 15 mile ride downhill on a twisty mountain road. They heat up, and warp. I think it's the design, single piece. Maybe I'm hard on brakes.

I bought some Harley 'floating' discs and haven't had a problem since.

I'd ask the dealer to give me credit for the stock replacement rotors, and use it toward the upgrade to a set of the HD 'floaters'.

no problems - yet- and I do some twisties.

I am always try not to let a hot pad sit clamped on the rotor at a stop.

I am very happy with the recent braking systems esp compared to the evo bagger loaded down. so far, the wear has been very good.

Well off to the dealer I go then. Any idea of the cost difference for floating conversion assuming they'd give me credit?
