Default Missing Neutral.....

I currently own a bone-stock 2012 Street Glide with 2700 miles on the clock and a somewhat annoying issue. Neutral is sometimes hard to find, regardless if the bike is cold or has been recently ridden. Been back to the dealership twice now, and the service manager swears everything is adjusted properly, and that the bike just needs further "run in." I didn't have this problem on the last new bike I purchased, (2007 Dyna), and a buddy of mine with a new Ultra said he cured this problem with a solid billet pressure plate he bought online. Anyone else out there with this issue? Again, thanks in advance for all the help!

I had that problem on my street bob. It would go right by neutral and in to second. Drove me nuts. I read in the forums that red line shock proof may help the issue so I gave it a shot. Now I would have never expected a fluid change would help but surprisingly enough it did help. Not a single issue since.

Okay Shredding rubber, I'm on the Redline website, which weight oil did you use, the heavy, the light weight, or super light weight? Thanks again....

It just took me some getting use to. My 09 VRod was a breeze to get into neutral compared to my 2011 Street Glide. If I need neutral to back out, I just pull the lever with my hand before starting up. At a redlight, I either get it first or second try. At first I couldn't find it at all.

This one:

Fixed that problem for me when I had the 1K service done.

Either use the pink... heavy or the light. I prefer pink. Don't use super heavy. This is for the TRANNY and not the primary, BTW.

Redline and a clutch adjustment works wonders. I do NOT recommend this by any means, but when I installed a pro clutch to handle the 120r... all of a sudden neutral was very very easy to find... and is the 'why' I DO recommend trying a few different clutch adjustments.

Okay Demolitionman, I'll try being more patient with this issue as you suggested. I did use a different set of boots than what I normally wear, but after substituting them for what I use on a daily basis, I still had the same recurring problem. As I understand it, all the dynamic components need time, (and some amount of wear), in order to function together properly, and maybe I just haven't reached that point yet. Will wait until next scheduled oil change and then test the waters with the Redline oil. Thanks.
