Have about 1,500 miles on my engine and transmission remanufacture which was sent by Ray Price to Milwaulkee. I had the "brain" replaced a 1,000 miles before that. Now to the question:
I was riding last week and the engine like came on and when I pulled off the road the engine raced, I tapped the throttle and the red light went off. I checked the battery leads, took the battery out and cleaned the leads and replaced and tightened it all up nice and cozy.
Went for a ride and it went for 20 or so minutes and then the light cam on and went off shortly.
You need to find out what fault code you tripped when the red light came on. There is an easy procedure in the manual that describes how to do it. Basically you turn the ignition switch on, then off, on again than off again, then on and stay on. Then you count the number of flashes from the display and look up the resulting code in a table (in the manual). It will tell you what sensor is faulty.
