Default Flip Boards

gf has a 2012 streetglide and she bought the flip boards. there are two springs left over from installation and there is no instruction on where these go. sadly she may not be able to keep these as her legs are not long enough to reach although she was advised if can reach end floorboard she should be fine....needless to say 271$ CAN later may not be the case. Can someone tell me what these springs are for and where do they go???

I am girlfriend of Dezi. I bought the kuryakyn flip blades for my 2012 streetglide. there are two locking bolts left. Not sure where they go and what they are for. I have put them in - not sure if they go where I tried them. I can position the flip boards upwards which makes it easier to reach, however doing that they dont go under floorboards neatly. Im at a loss how to make these things work for me.....by the way no beer involved in posting sadly

Are the extra bolts used if you want to widen the boards out more ?

When I did mine I had two set screws left over. I did not have to use them any where and assume they were spares. I have had them on for two year without problems.

What do you mean by you installed them and they pushed the blades upwards? Got any pics?

You can see mine extended and I would post pics of the underside and the blades closed, but it is in the shop.

the set screws goes in the base where the flip folds down, you can set the flip blades so they are at a higher angle up with them but then they wont close

I missed that somewhere in the instructions (if it is there). Mine were fine without the set screws.

I also noticed in the link that Dexi's GF posted :

Note: P/N 7540 & 7541 are recommended for 33" or longer inseams
Note: Flip Blades are not recommended for use with Fairing Lowers.

Mine are perfect for me with a 32" inseam. Friends said it looks like I am standing up almost from behind.

These things look a lot like the FBI Switchblades,

I've never seen them on a bike but they look like they would drag or at least severely limit the lean angle of the bike ? If the pegs don't hit them don't your feet drag long before the floorboards touch?
