Installed the 68t pulley today. Bought a used pulley off Ebay. From a 07 &up Sporty. Sand blasted and then polished with scotch brite pads on an angle die grinder then clear coat from a rattle can. Pulley turned out very good. The new pulley is about 1/4 taller than original. I replaced the bolts with 2" x 7/16 grade 8 bolts blue lock tite and proper torque. To get the belt on the pulley I had to wrap it around the pulley then install the axle. The wheel needs to slide as far forward as it can thats why install the axle afterwards. Adjust the belt tension and tighten everything up.
The 1st picture shows the size difference.
The 2nd shows the new finish.
The 3rd shows the position of the belt tension adjustment
I am planning the same mod but bought new. Curious how it runs though? Was the difference noticeable?
This will be the second summer running the 68 tooth sprocket on my 07. The difference is really noticable on the highway when you roll on the throttle at 55 to 60 MPH.
I took off a 66t. It was marked 66tooth on the back of the pulley. Good to hear it does make a difference cause that will add to the SE 255's and exhaust.

I did mine last year as well. I notice a nice difference at slow speeds as well.
Although not a tooth change, last week I changed my pulley to the IDS rubber mounted pulley. Man, what a difference! All the transmission/driveline noise is gone now. Very quiet and smooth. I wish I had done this years ago. I also have the SE engine compensator so that probably makes it even better.
Did the same couple months ago.Made the same observations, also was changeing the r tire and noticed the 07 wheel bearings where rock solid and beefy, were as the old 66t ids sprocket bearings where flimsey and flew apart when removed. The bearings on the new 68t look like yet a 3rd brand/mng ,look somewhat better,,,time will tell. paid about $180 something new. Nice improvement, especially knowing the bearing is new.Not a dramatic change, but whould recomend and top speed doesnt suffer much. ,dont have any plans to change any other gearing for now.It was also no additional labor on my part while changing tire.
