You see all types that's for sure. The hard core Harley guys that won't give you the time of day if you ride anything else, these jokers make me laugh. Then there is the wanna be hard core Harley guys that have to wear their entire Harley wardrobe when they get on their bike, these idiots are comical as hell. What ever happened to riding in jeans and a white t-shirt. When did we graduate to full leather, bandanas and spray tans? Then there's the majority that doesn't care what you ride, this is the group I hang with. The waving thing has kinda got out of hand.

+1, but for me, only since 1973. Once again, we get back to caring what other people do. I wave when I feel like, don't wave when I don't feel like it, has nothing to do with what the other guy rides or whatever. Is there a federal law or something that I'm breaking if I don't wave? I can't beleive how many people get offended because a perfect stranger going in the opposite direction doesn't wave at them. Lionsm13 said it right, "Brotherhood just cause we ride the same brand of motorcycle?"........ Um, I don't think so!

In my area the other guys are waving from across the interstate median. I usually don't see or notice across the highway until it's too late to acknowledge. And half the time I'm on cruise control resting one hand and sure aint' gonna take the other off to wave!

So kcf you can tell the difference between the hardcores and the wanna be hardcores just by riding by them? That's amazing. Some people wear leathers and such, just in case they go down. Jeans and a t shirt don't offer much protection. Not saying I don't ride in jeans and a shirt, in fact most of the time.
But if I'm going farther then a few miles, I throw on the jacket. No chaps unless it's real cold. Just saying, I don't think you can tell who is a joker or an idiot just by what they are wearing, or riding. I wave, and wave back at everyone on 2 wheels.

Oh no! I hope I'm not one of "them"! I have better things to do than care what anyone else is or isn't wearing. If someone waves at me and I see it I'll make an effort to wave back if it's safe to do so. It's just basic politeness. I thought a "wanna be" was someone that wears leather or Harley clothes and doesn't even ride. The way I see it, if your on 2 or 3 wheels your not a "wanna be".

When I go out for I ride the first 5 or so riders that wave at me get the "cool guy" wave. After that, I put a big stupid grin on my face and wave emphatically like a very excited child.
