Seems like there are a whole lot of insecure people on this board. Why is it so important that others acknowledge your wave or that you wave in the first place? Why all the hurt feelings? Get over it and don't take it personally.
Here's the thing, how the hell does anyone know who you are? Am I supposed to assume that just because you're on a HD, that you're a good guy? I know a convicted/registered sex offender (raped a minor) who rides a Road Glide and waves to other riders! He's the last guy that I'd want to wave to just to show "solidarity" or a "brotherhood" between us. Because, there isn't one! I guarantee that there are lots of other bikers out there that I'd sooner spit on, than wave at.
Everyone has their reasons for waving or not waving and they probably have nothing to do with you. So again, stop taking it so personally!
One time I was on the side of the road with an electrical issue on my shovelhead. Had the seat off, tools out, etc. and was near a campgrounds that was having a small MC rally. I had hundreds of bikes pass me in a short time, probably an hour and a half, most of them on Harleys, all part of that Harley "brotherhood". They must have been because almost everyone of them waved! Not a single one stopped though, but hey, being friendly is what brotherhood is all about right?
Then there is the wanna be hard core Harley guys that have to wear their entire Harley wardrobe when they get on their bike, these idiots are comical as hell.
To each his own, but I have to admit that I've never gotten the whole "Harley chic" thing. Obviously enough people are into it that it's become worthwhile to turn every dealership into a freakin' clothing boutique. I don't know how people can stand to wear all that black gear during the 100+ degree summer days here.
Can't say it enough - waving is so gay...do you wave at every car/cage on the highway too...?? If you want some feel good time - go to a "high five" or "a$$ slapping" convention.
