So, like at 160+ do bugs go right through you? I've been to 120++ on several big bikes, never went all out on a sport bike, but those speeds are scary, to me at least. Things are happening way too fast, I can't imagine like 160-170, especially in an environment like where a cat could come out of a ditch ..... of course, it would be a quick splat ...
Swapped bikes with a buddy years ago on a trip to Columbia, SC - he was riding a Suzuki GSXR 1100. Before I knew it, I was doing 140. We pulled over and I told him to give me my bike back. (Mine was a Kaw 454ltd). Scared the bejeezus out of me.. That was way too fast for me then, and now.
had a triumph trophy 1200 as my first bike - had it up near 140 - came home and sold it the next weekend.
For me its more about how fast you get even when you don't think about it - I was routinely up in the 100+ on the beltway and didn't even feel it until I looked down and saw the speedometer.
If I could have the comfort of an Ultra with a little less speed than the trophy I'd be happy. My Ultra is a little too sluggish for me
Man... some of that stuff ^ is just nuts! 200+ HP / 200+ MPH on a contact patch smaller that your wallet? I'll be happy thumping down the road on my heavy-azz bike at about 100 MPH slower - thank you!
