Default E3's wearing funny

I installed my 21" wheel and dunlop E3 tire about 8k miles ago. I have been pretty diligent with the tire pressure. In fact the little nubs are still on the side walls. My issue is that I am starting to see cupping on the middle of the tire. I am running 41psi in the tire. What pressures are you guys running and has anyone seen cupping or any other premature or irregular signs of wear.

Welcome to Dunlop HELL. My last two bikes which were not Harley's had E3's on them and both would cup in less than 10K miles. And like you, I am very diligent about tire pressure. Some will say that they have never had a problem with the E3's, but I have twice on two different bikes. In my mind, can't be just coincidence.

I had one on the rear bike and got the same result. At about 10k on the tire it was getting pretty dangerous to ride on. The bike always felt like it was going to slide out from under me when going through turns. I'm running with Michelin Commander 2 now and so far I'm very happy with them. I don't have enough miles on them yet to say how they will wear.

I have 6500 on my rear E3 and I am experiencing an uneven wear pattern also. There are gradual steps off to the side of center, both sides, right after the tread grooves. No problem with the front tire and I have been **** on keeping correct pressures.
