Default Fairing/Windshield wellnut part #

Anyone have the part number for the windshield wellnut for the Road Glide or E-Glide windshield? This is the nut that is in a rubber boot and is pushed into the fairing to hold the windshield.

I need on for my RG but the part number for the E-Glide windshield should be the same I think.

I pushed one into the fairing yesterday and figure it would be much easier to buy a new one then remove the outer fairing.

I order my parts manual last week but it has not arrived yet.

I just go down to a local hardware store and buy them by handfull.... they are in the nut and screw section... do you have that option there?

if so be sure to take one with you to make sure you get the right size

The roadglide well nuts are different than the e-glide inserts. Some guys say they purchased well nuts at hardware stores that are the correct size.

Harley has a new type now that makes its own threads into the inner fairing with a flathead screw driver (much better). This keeps them from pulling out all the time.I replaced two of mine with this type and have 6 more on standby to replace the others.

Thanks for the info everyone. I can get these at the local HD dealer but do not want to pay the German dealer price since I can get them cheaper by ordering from and HD dealer in the USA. Local hardware stores only have metric sizes but I guess I could swap them out to metric.

HarleyRuiz, do you mean the new ones put new holes into the fairing? I don't think I wanna do that. Or do the new ones create threads onto themselves? I am confusedededed!
