[QUOTE=Florida Swamp Yankee;9891677]Does anybody have the pin to pin resistance values or other methods to check the voltage regulator and stator windings so I can narrow down finding out why I have engine light and battery light on? 2007 FLHR. My engine light will sometimes come on alone and with the battery light as well. The battery is newer and everything works ok, the lights coming on was only once every two or three weeks, now it is almost every ride. I'm stuck in my cage because HD service manual doesn't give you info to test your parts.
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken there are 3 manuals for touring bikes, Service, parts and electrical.
Have you checked to see if this information is in the electrical manual?

Default Stator

Just went thru this on my bike. The wire coming from the stator that goes to the rectifier has three wires in it. Unplug the stator from the rectifier and using a VOM, test for continuity between the three connections. You should have continuity. Then test between each of the three connections to ground and you should not have any continuity. If you do, then the stator is grounded and has to be changed. This is being tested from the stator end of the plug. Then with the plug still disconnected, probe any two of the stator plug, start the bike and you should have about 35 to 50 volts ac coming from the stator at about 2k rpm. If these checks come out ok, then the rectifier is probably bad. I did these checks per the manual and led me to change my rectifier. Problem fixed. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps a lot. After paying $60.00 for the service manual for the bike when I got it I expected to have this info. This forum is great for keeping 'mo money in your pocket and out of the Moco's!
