What year seats will fit 2008 FLHX? (also, seat recommendations)
Like title says...I have an 08, last year of the old frame, but 1st year for the 6 gallon tank. I've been scouring the boards & Ebay looking for used Solo seats (Wife rides her own, youngest kid getting to the age where it's uncool to ride bitch on dads bike, so no reason to keep 2-up on there all the time). I see a lot of listings for 88-07, or 09 & up. Did I wind up with a bastard year?
Also, the two that seen to drop low and back (something I want) is Lepara Bare Bones, and Mustangs Solo model. Any opinions from users? I don't have 500-600 to drop on a high end seast, so the price has to hover in this general price range.
the tongue mount at the tank changed to the current style but the frame is narrower and the contour where the frame meets the rear fender is different.
some 09+ seats may fit, but you'd want to test fit in person.
( we tried my 09 Ultra and 10 SG seats on my neighbor's 08 SG- poor fit, the rear of the seat(s) were riding more on the fender than the frame)
Any touring bike seat from 2008-2012 will fit a 2008 with no problem. I would stay away from the 2009/10 seats from HD they were all built on the Hammock seat pan which is a POS the 11/12 seats are the best imo as far as stock type seats go.
Went to my local dealer today looking for a new seat for my 08 Ultra and saw a very nice one for 700 bucks air ride. Now i have to figure if I want air or heat. decisions decisions.
